Gabe is involved in a number of different ag technology-related initiatives across California and between California and other countries. He is the Founder of the Vine network of agrifood innovators across state and a while back launched a series of ag-related hackathons called “Apps for Ag”. He also serves on the board of the AI Institute for Future Food Systems at UC Davis. One initiative he is leading at UC ANR is the Farm Robotics Challenge that has 30 US and overseas universities competing to create novel ag-related applications on a common open robotics platform, farm-ng.
